The 9th Annual Youth Salon will feature workshops and a showcase celebrating the work of young Latine/x/a/o filmmakers during the 2024 PHLAFF Festival Season.
Eligibility
The Youth Salon looks for submissions by youth under 22 years of age who are Latin American, of Latin American heritage, or identify as Latine/x/a/o who have at least one of the following roles in the making of the film: writer, actor, director, producer, or editor.
Teachers
Though students can apply directly to the Youth Salon, we invite instructors of film and media arts programs and teaching artists to submit on behalf of their students. If you wish to submit more than one film project, please submit multiple Youth Salon submission forms.
Guidelines
Films (or excerpts) should not exceed 20 minutes
Each film submitted and accepted for screening will require parental consent for any youth under 18 unless you are a student having your film submitted by a teacher at your school
Each film must be submitted with its title, runtime, and the year it was made
Films must have been created after May 2022 (made within the last 2 years)
Non-English language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted
