Meet our 2024 LOS FELLOWS!

Director of photography in film and video, studied in Mexico at the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers (A.M.C.I.)
Cinematographer, audiovisual director and documentary filmmaker, he directed La Bahía de la Cruz, a video product placement from the city of Buenaventura. He is currently directing and producing two feature-length documentaries Manos de Luz and Granada Relato de un pardon.
In recent years he has served as General Director of Armadillo New Media & Films, Technical Coordinator of the film and new media festival “Narrar El Futuro” Director of Photography for several documentary and serial projects produced for the channel Señal Colombia, ANTV, Win Sports, also in the production of video clips and independent productions such as documentaries in the country of Venezuela and Panama.

Iliana Pagán Teitelbaum is a Puerto Rican filmmaker interested in stories about diasporic communities. She is a researcher on equity and empowerment of indigenous communities in film and a creator who imagines a more equitable and peaceful planet.
She is an educator teaching social awareness, media literacy, and the love of film, languages, and global cultures. Granddaughter of pastelilleros and diamond dealers. Lover of life, dance, music, art, nature, storytelling, films, stop-motion, photography, languages, games, and sci-fi.

Erik Alfredo Martínez graduated from the first class of the filmmaking program at the Altos de Chavón School of Design, where he collaborated in the post-production of various projects and finished a thesis project in screenwriting. His animated short films have been showcased in online platforms such as VOTD.tv and his fiction short film “Brasil” (2018) has attended international film festivals such as the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival and the Cinalfama Lisbon International Film Festival. He attended to workshops at Parsons School of Design and a creative residency at Fabrica Research Centre, and has collaborated in the roles of writing, animation and post-production for Simulacro Magazine, Alliance Française Santo Domingo, Aurora Post Studio, Güasábara Cine and Lantica Media.
As part of this effort, fellowships will also be aligned with specific impact-focused outcomes that further the development of the individual’s practice while also upholding and advancing the mission of the Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival.
What is the los fellows Program?
The Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival Los Fellows Program is designed to support Latine/x/a/o creatives/filmmakers’ artistic development. This program is part of PHLAFF's commitment to supporting practitioners, enhancing the generative impact of the festival and contribute to the advancement of Latine/x/a/o arts, culture, and diasporic reflections in Philadelphia and beyond. Los Fellows projects will be presented as part of our festival offerings and year-round programming. This project is a collaboration with PhillyCAM.
This 8-month fellowship program (March-October) will support three selected Fellows by offering an honorarium award of $10,000 each over their term, as well as capacity building, technical, and mentoring to support the development of their work. Proposed projects must include a public activation/community engagement component. These projects will align with specific impact-focused outcomes that further the artistic development of the creative/filmmaker's body of practice while also upholding and advancing the mission of the Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival.
