2024 ARTS SUBMISSIONS information

ENGLISH:

Starting in our 2024 season, the Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival will be accepting submissions of works in the following disciplines: musical acts, dance, poetry/spoken word, and theatre. Selected artists will be featured in PHLAFF 2024 showcases. Our 13th season is scheduled to be held from Sunday, May 26th through Sunday, July 7th.

These submissions will support our efforts to develop a new space in the Philadelphia region and beyond where performing artists, visual artists, and other creatives can build community and engage audiences while presenting and discussing innovative work.

Through screenings, public discussion groups (both virtual and in person), workshops, lectures, and special events, The Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival will engage diverse communities through the universal language of arts and film creating critical connections to shared experiences and cross-cultural understanding at both the national and international levels.

A partir de nuestra temporada 2024, PHLAFF aceptará presentaciones de trabajos en las siguientes disciplinas: actos musicales, danza, poesía/spoken word y teatro. Los artistas seleccionados aparecerán en los showcases de PHLAFF 2024. Nuestra decimotercera temporada está programada para llevarse a cabo del domingo 26 de mayo al domingo 7 de julio.

Estas presentaciones respaldarán nuestros esfuerzos para desarrollar un nuevo espacio en la región de Philadelphia y más allá donde los artistas escénicos, artistas visuales y otros creativos puedan construir una comunidad e involucrar al público mientras presentan y discuten trabajos innovadores.

A través de proyecciones, grupos de discusión pública (virtuales y presenciales), talleres, conferencias y eventos especiales, PHLAFF involucrará a diversas comunidades a través del lenguaje universal de las artes y el cine, creando conexiones críticas para experiencias compartidas y entendimiento intercultural tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.

Rules & Terms

The Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival is open to receiving proposals for projects in the following disciplines: musical acts, dance, poetry/spoken word, and theatre. Selected artists will be featured in PHLAFF 2024 showcases. If you have any questions about the proposals, please refer to our Arts Submissions FAQ. All questions will be reviewed by Fridays at 6 PM EST and addressed on our website (phlaff.org) on Tuesday by 6 PM EST. Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Arts Submissions Timeline

• October 15th: Submissions Open

• January 15th: Submissions Close

• February 15th: Notification Date

• March 15th: Announcement of Arts Acts via PHLAFF social channels

Arts Submissions Requirements

Our Arts submissions are open to emerging and established creatives who identify as Latine/x/a/o artists working in the Philadelphia region.

• All submissions must be submitted through the PHLAFF 2024 Arts Submissions Form. Other forms of submission will not be considered.

• Must be at least 18 years old to enter or, if younger, you must have approval from a parent or guardian.

• All submissions must be completed works and not premiered prior to 2023.

• All submissions must meet a minimum time of 5 minutes and a maximum of 15

• Proposals must be uploaded to the submissions form in the form of a .pdf document or a private YouTube video link.

• All submission requirements must be received by their designated deadlines.

• The artist must reside or be based in the Greater Philadelphia region

• The artist must be open to the use of non-traditional venues for their project.

• The artist must be open to alternative formats for their initial proposal based on feedback from our Programming Team.

• The artist’s project must be in alignment with The 2024 Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival’s theme of Essence.

Requisitos de envío de artes

Nuestras presentaciones de Arte están abiertas a creativos emergentes y establecidos que se identifiquen como artistas latinos/x/a/o que trabajen en la región de Filadelfia.

• Todas las presentaciones deben realizarse a través del Formulario de presentaciones de artes de PHLAFF 2024. No se considerarán otras formas de presentación.

• Debe tener al menos 18 años para ingresar o, si es menor, debe contar con la aprobación de un padre o tutor.

• Todas las presentaciones deben ser trabajos completos y no estrenados antes de 2023.

• Todos los envíos deberán cumplir con un tiempo mínimo de 5 minutos y un máximo de 15

• Las propuestas deben cargarse en el formulario de envíos en forma de documento pdf o enlace de video privado de Youtube.

• Todos los requisitos de presentación deben recibirse dentro de las fechas límite designadas.

• El artista debe residir o tener su sede en la región de Philadelphia.

• El artista debe estar abierto al uso de lugares no tradicionales para su proyecto.

• El artista debe estar abierto a formatos alternativos para su propuesta inicial en base al feedback de nuestro Equipo de Programación.

• El proyecto del artista debe estar alineado con el tema esencial del Festival de Cine y Arte Latino de Filadelfia 2024.
