arts Submissions FAQ

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2024 SEASON HAVE CLOSED. THANK YOU!

Have questions related to our arts submission process? Please see some Frequently Asked Questions below.

If you have questions that are not answered below, please use our Arts FAQ Form. We will continue to update this page as new questions come in.

Where can I view the requirements and submit my art submission?

Please check out our Arts Submissions Information page to learn more about the requirements for submissions and to submit your works for consideration for PHLAFF 2024.

Should all submissions, including poetry, have a visual element or could it be an audio recording?

Poetry/spoken word submissions do not need to have a visual element in their submission. You are welcome to include a visual component of yourself speaking your work, but audio files will be acceptable for submission.

Could more detail be included for what a premiered work would be categorized as (so we have better guidance on what not to submit)? Would this be inclusive of works done in collaboration with companies that have been showcased on their YouTube platforms?

It is advised that any works, whether they be performances or shared content, should not be made public or shared on any platform before 2024. While it is acceptable to create works before this date, they mustn't be publicly shared before the aforementioned date.

Can an individual artist submit more than one piece to the different categories?

Artists are allowed to submit their work to multiple categories. If you're an artist and you want to submit your work to different categories, you need to fill out a separate submission form for each category. This means that if you want to submit your work to more than one category, you'll need to fill out multiple forms.
