About the Film

In the documentary THREADS OF LIGHT, blind sculptor Luis Felipe Passalacqua takes us by the hand and step by step into his sensitive world; he and the camera coexist, from the professional to the most intimate. His sense of humor and positive attitude are his allies in overcoming the hurdles in pursuing his dreams.

About the Filmmaker

Berenice, Mexican, obtained a degree in Documentary Filmmaking (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica). She worked as an Assistant Director in and box office movies such as Alfonso Cuaron’s “Y tú Mamá también”, Tony Scott’s “Man on Fire” and Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto”. In 2004 she relocated to Puerto Rico where she primarily worked in film production. She produced the fiction films “Fistful of Dirt” (Sebastián Silva), and “El Cuartito” (Marcos Carnevale); and the documentary “Golpe de agua” (Carla Cavina).

As Documentary Director, Berenice has the short documentary films “Camino”/ ”On The Way” (2006-San Diego Latino Film Festival-Best Documentary Short) and “Libre de miedo” / “Free From Fear” (2022 Best Film - Documentaries Without Borders International Film Festival and Thomas Edison Film Festival) and the feature documentary film “Hilos de luz” / “Threads of Light”

Her aspiration as an artist is to continue telling personal stories that illuminate our human condition.
