About the Film
In 1976, Don Abel, a corrupt but conflicted Mexican intelligence agent known as "El Mero Gallo" or "The Main Rooster", is recruited by the CIA to eliminate a defecting Communist leader hiding in California. What begins as a routine mission quickly spirals into chaos, forcing Don Abel to face his own morality, ambition, and the true weight of his choices. A darkly satirical espionage thriller, Don Abel collides faith, loyalty, and betrayal in a story where no one walks away clean.

About the Filmmaker
Miguel is currently a Chicano Story Artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, CA, having worked on such films as Strange World, Wish, and most recently, Zootopia 2. Miguel started his career in animation in 2018 as a Production Assistant, then worked his way up to Storyboard Revisionist and eventually Story Artist. Apart from Disney, he’s worked for some of the biggest studios in the world, such as DreamWorks Animation, Netflix Animation, and 3Pas Studios (Eugenio Derbez’s Production Company).
