About the Film
Resume la lucha que lleva el grupo Escambrón Unido en defensa de la playa de la pocita, frente al Normandie, y en defensa del Parque Sixto Escobar. Ishay OZ, dueño del Hotel Normandie, quiere privatizarlas o sea que 1/3 parte de las facilidades del Escambrón las pierde el pueblo de Puerto Rico. Desde hace más de tres anos este grupo ha sido activo y ha denunciado en prensa y medios sociales este intento de privatización.
Portrays the fight which the Group Escambrón Unido sustains, in defense of the beach called La Pocita, in front of Hotel Normandie and the Sixto Escobar sports park. Ishay OZ, owner of the Normandie Hotel, wants to privatize both, that is, one third of the facilities of Escambron and thus the people of Puerto Rico would loose. For over three years this group has been active in using the space, educating people, and using social media this intent to privatize.

About the Filmmaker
Fritz studied Communications at UNAM, Mexico, and has an MFA from Vermont College at Norwich University. She worked as a freelancer in various positions until she directed the documentary "About Bands and other Tunes", which won an Ariel for best educational documentary. Previously she directed "Yalaltecas" produced by Colectivo Cine Mujer. In 1985 she moved to Puerto Rico, and started working as a professor at the University of the Sacred Heart that named her Professor Emeritus. She has produced more than 40 documentaries and 4 feature films that focus on the topics she is passionate about, women, migration, culture and nature. Her films have been selected by various world film festivals and won recently an Emmy NY for "After the Boats Left" about gentrification and marginalization in a community in Fajardo, PR.
