About the Film

Lucía, a talented painter, gives up her career to raise Emilia, her daughter with moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder. Armando, her husband, a cold executive, admires his secretary’s son and shows no affection for Emilia. Exhausted, Lucía leaves him. A stroke forces Armando to rethink his life. While he struggles to win them back, Emilia discovers her talent for painting and gains recognition, creating a new path for her family.

About the Filmmaker

Ivelize Santiago is an award-winning Puerto Rican filmmaker known for powerful, emotionally driven stories that spotlight resilience, culture, and the human spirit. Her breakout series La Gran Alondra earned two Paoli Awards, the Orlando Golden Mic Award, and was named Best TV Production of 2014.

Her acclaimed documentary Voces en Lazos, inspired by her own cancer remission journey, received the Communicator Award – Excellence Award and established her as a creator of bold, socially conscious films. Her work includes festival-recognized projects such as The Other Woman, Colores de Perdón, Calacas: Amor y Muerte, and the upcoming documentary Detrás de mi Espejo.

In 2025, she published La Gran Alondra: La Historia and was honored with an official proclamation from the Municipality of Isabela, Puerto Rico, for her cultural impact.

Ivelize is currently developing multiple productions, including La Gran Alondra 2, Mundo de Lobas, Entre Agaves y Esperanzas, Super Mom, and Whisper 2.
