Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, DIEGO BARRAGAN studied a Bachelor's degree in fine arts in filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Alongside his brother Alex, he is the co-founder of the production company Cine Chacal based in their home town of Guadalajara, Mexico. The Barragan brothers have produced 4 short films, 3 of which were written and directed by Diego. Their latest short film, "Lord Basura" in 2022, was co-written and co-directed by the two brothers. Diego’s first feature film "Don't Go To School Tomorrow" had its World Premiere at Austin Film Festival in 2021. Some festivals in which Diego's work has been selected or awarded includes; San Diego Latino Film Festival in USA, Capri Hollywood in Italy, South Film and Arts Academy Festival in Chile, LatinUY in Uruguay and Bacalar International Film Festival in Mexico, to mention some.
