DAMIANA ACUÑA is a Mexican film director based in Los Angeles. She has an MFA in Film Directing from the AFI Conservatory, she was selected as an emerging Mexican filmmaker by the program Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today in collaboration with HBO and the HFPA and participated in Cine Qua Non's Script Revision Lab with the support of The Academy and Tribeca. Her visual poem Aurum premiered on Pantaya and Dish Latino and her most recent work includes the music video Ahí Donde Me Ven for Mexican artist Ángela Aguilar and commercials for brands such as Walmart and McDonald’s. Damiana’s poetic visual storytelling focuses on female led narratives that hunt for the sublime through the the mystical and the profound.
