Disrupted Borders

This story is a counterpoint to the popular media narratives of the border, with inhabitants portrayed either as helpless victims or heinous criminals. This is a story of ingenuity, strength, but most of all, of love; one between the best of friends. These are the ingredients of how alternative economic realities in marginalized communities are made, outside of the usual motivations of market capitalism. In light of the political climate and recent events, it is more important than ever to share the bittersweet reality, complexity, and rich humanity of life on the border.
