Woman Unchained
About the Film
1977 - Argentina. GINA (37) obsessively tries to conceive a child with CHARLES (58), her husband, with whom she already lost an unborn child. He’s an influential businessman involved in dirty business with the army during the dictatorship. She’s a former horse jumping champion, who finds an ideal refuge in horseback riding to escape the anguish of not being a mother. One afternoon, she succumbs to the attraction she feels for the horse caretaker at the equestrian club where she rides. They become lovers, though she soon discovers that a love affair fails to heal her wounds. She then discovers that the army kidnapped her best friend. Gina turns to a captain from her husband’s circle for help, clueless that she might fall into a trap. When Gina opens her eyes, it’s too late: she is immersed in a perverse game in which Charles also takes part. Will Gina accept the rules of the dangerous game they crave to drag her into? Or will she be able to risk everything and face a horrendous nightmare in order to break free?
