About the Filmmaker
Jenni Merla (Buenos Aires, 1990) is an actor, director, and screenwriter, holding a degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires. She wrote, directed, and starred in the short films “Que todo se derrumbe” (2021), “Las Fitonias” (2022), “Ángel & Perla” (2023, BAFICI, Palm Springs ShortFest), and “A Place Within” (2025). She is currently developing her first feature film, “Alegría Macarena”, with the support of Mecenazgo and ABC BAFICI.
Victoria Zapata (Buenos Aires, 1996) is an actor, producer, and director. She studied acting at the National University of Arts (UNA) and trained in voice at the South American Institute for Teaching Communication (ISEC). In 2019, she was awarded a scholarship from the IBERESCENA, through which she developed community-based theatre projects in Mexico. She works as a producer at About Entertainment. “A Place Within” is her first short.
