About the Film
Marty Becker is an overweight medical student from Louisville, KY who travels to San Francisco to research hospitals to intern after medical school. While there, he meets another medical student from Louisville, Emily, in a twist of fate. Thinking the confrontation was "meant to be", Marty is heartbroken because of, he thinks, his appearance. Three years later and morphed into a different person, Marty runs into Emily again. This time she doesn't recognize him at all. Using this to his advantage and not revealing who he is, Marty embarks on a journey of revenge to win back his confidence, only to find he's on a journey to self discovery

About the Filmmaker
Paul Perez is a Steadicam, Ronin operator and editor in Louisville, KY. Growing up in an all medical field family, Paul struck interest in Steadicam as a kid after watching a 1983 PBS special on the inventor of the Steadicam, Garrett Brown and the making of THE SHINING and Garrett shooting footage of Redwood Forest for THE RETURN OF THE JEDI high speeder scooter chase scene. After pursuing filmmaking at Trinity High School, WKU and Full Sail University, where he wrote ON BORROWED TIME as a short film and was encouraged by his screenwriting professor to make it into a feature and gain and lose the weight himself. After graduation, Paul gained and lost 80 pounds for the movie while traveling the US as a PA for CBS’ STAR SEARCH with Arsenio Hall and later joining America’s Next Top Model for 10 years. For the past 8 years he’s been a Ronin operator and editor for UPHA saddlebred horses shows throughout the US.
