About the Filmmaker
Ahuatl (he, him) is a queer, Latinx-Indigenous director and writer born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His award-winning films have screened at over 50 festivals worldwide.
His previous film "Physical Therapy," which was selected by last year's PHLAFF and won the community filmmaker award as the Los Angeles Shorts Fest, is currently streaming on Amazon. "Mean Goals," about a mean-spirited team of LGBTQ soccer players, earned the Directors Choice and Festival Favorite awards at the Cinema Diverse film festival.
For over 18 years, he’s worked as a media, marketing, and public relations professional at social justice nonprofits. He graduated with an MFA in Screenwriting from the AFI Conservatory and BA in English from Georgetown University.
