About the Film
Ane, a spirited 12-year-old influencer, spends her afternoons playing with her cousins, Madson and Janice, in the Jamary village deep in the Amazon region. One day, during a daring game initiated by her cousins, Ane ventures fearlessly into the mysterious forest, where she encounters Anhangá—an enchanted indigenous spirit that protects her community and fights tirelessly for the preservation of the forest. However, the forest and its people face grave danger from Walter, a powerful land-grabber exploiting and threatening the local community. When Anhangá is captured by Walter, Ane teams up with her cousins to rescue him, embarking on the most thrilling and life-changing adventure they have ever known.

About the Filmmaker
Begê Muniz is an Amazonian director, screenwriter, editor and actor, a self-declared indigenous Mura from Amazonas. As an actor he has appeared in major productions such as Paula Gaitan's film Luz nos Trópicos. As a director, he directed the short film Jamary, which took part in renowned festivals and won 8 awards. His second short, Tapuia, took part in New Filmmakers in Los Angeles 2024, as well as being selected for the Kinoforum Short Film Festival. 2023. And his third Paranoia or Mistification was selected for the International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala 2024. Begê will also release his fourth short film Nhandê, co-directed with Elisa Telles, in 2025, as well as his first feature film Jamary.
