About the Film

While home alone on the eve of her First Communion, 12-year-old Carmen receives an unexpected visit from a group of neighborhood roller girls and scooter boys. Desperate to fit in, Carmen reluctantly agrees to hang out with them for the day. After one of the girls plays a practical joke on Carmen, the group sneaks away with her communion dress, leaving Carmen tormented. As she journeys to the local roller rink to retrieve her dress, Carmen must confront her bullies and grapple with the weight of her own Catholic upbringing.
