About the Filmmaker

Dom Lopez is a Philadelphia-born and based filmmaker and community storyteller who finds his voice at the intersection of art and advocacy. As a Screenwriting & Playwriting student at Drexel University, he channels his passion for uncovering marginalized narratives into both his creative work and civic engagement. From volunteering with organizations like Mighty Writers, Philabundance, and Books Through Bars, to guiding young playwrights at Belmont Charter Elementary through the Mantua Project. His recent work includes directing the short film Abandominium and creating promotional documentary content for grassroots organizations like Power Interfaith through his internship with Partners in Kind. Currently working at PhillyCAM, Dom remains devoted to amplifying the stories that often go unheard, whether on film sets, in local music scenes, or through his ongoing creative experiments in writing and music-making. He is currently in post production for his next short film, Lily Ratchet.
