Every year PHLAFF counts on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers and interns. We seek volunteers and interns locally, and nationally, who share a commitment to supporting established and emerging creative Latin American and Latino filmmakers. Volunteers and Interns are vital to all of PHLAFF’s programs, including Festival workshops, lectures, screenings, Youth Salon and other special events.
Volunteer vs. Internship – What’s the difference?
Volunteers join the team prior to the Festival and provide support before and during Festival activities.
Interns join our team per semester and may acquire elective credit for their participation. Once an internship application is completed, PHLAFF will work with you in processing your application and ensuring you have all the requirements to qualify your experience as college credit.
Efforts for this component focus on the placing and distributing film festival collateral throughout the region including college campuses, restaurants, business, and other key community locations. Hours and distribution plans to be coordinated with our Communications Team.
Efforts for this component are vital to smooth execution of events. Tasks for this team will include venue set up, guest check in, ushers, event management, production, box office and tech support. Volunteers and interns for the Logistics team will operate on 4 hour shifts.
We recognize the time and effort Volunteers and Interns dedicate to the Festival and provide benefits as a thank-you for your service.
